About Jaymi Elford

Jaymi has been reading tarot since she was 13, when she stumbled on The Witches Tarot deck in suburban Denver. Since then, she has become an avid collector of all things related to divination. Jaymi lists the This Might Hurt Tarot, The Creatures Tarot, and The Elemental North Tarot amongst her favorite decks. You can find her offering online one-on-one sessions or teaching at various conferences. Tarot is Jaymi’s inner compass. She reads the cards to seek guidance and inspiration for herself. When it comes to living a tarot-inspired life, Jaymi has a simple philosophy: clear the clutter, find your anchor, and let the wisdom guide your way.

Not only is Jaymi an accomplished reader, but she’s also a respected member of the international Tarot community. She’s a con junkie and travels around North America to teach and learn. She has taught at The Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY; Readers Studio in New York City; PantheaCon, STAARCon in Florida; the Bay Area Tarot Symposium (BATS); and at the Northwest Tarot Symposium (NWTS) in her hometown.

Jaymi is also involved in the production of various Tarot media—authoring and editing books on tarot, writing books and articles for magazines, and is addicted to producing little white books for others’ decks. Lo Scarabeo published the Triple Goddess Tarot in 2017. Llewellyn Worldwide released Tarot Inspired Life in January 2019. Find her talking about the intersection of tarot and divination in The Cartomancer Magazine, which she also helps edit. Finally, Jaymi co-hosts Cardslingers Coast-to-Coast with Melissa Cynova and Hilary Parry Haggerty.

She resides in Portland, Oregon, with her wife, Kendra, and their two ragdoll cats. Jaymi enjoys her non-tarot time outdoors in the Pacific Northwest, writing, and spinning fire poi.

Some might say I’m a little obsessed with tarot decks and books. I use Tarot to gain insight or advice, as well as explore how I can integrate the cards into as many aspects of my life. They’re my creative writing companion; I use them to brainstorm and mind map projects and life plans, and I play games with them.
