I’m sitting in PDX, at my gate. Today’s the big day! In just under an hour or so, I head down to the Bay Area. Today’s card is the 6 of Pentacles. It reminds me of keeping a good attitude in the face of adversity.
The TSA detained my bag due to my electronic wizardry and thankfully it passed after a second scan. I was nervous but remained patient until I could help them sort it all out. Nothing will damper my trip!
Today’s card is The Devil. I drew him last night to prep for today’s post and I’m honestly not surprised. I pushed myself quite hard yesterday with getting lots of creative stuff done. Woke up this morning to a runny nose and no energy. The Devil reminds me to give into laziness and allow myself to go slow the new two days. I do NOT want to be sick during my trip.
So I took an easy day today by chatting and doing some light planning. I also slacked a bit by not updating this site until after I packed my gear for tomorrow. And now that I have finished, I’m off to snuggle Kender and enjoy a last night lazing around.
Today’s draw is the 3 of Swords. Typically a card of heartbreak and soreness, I see this card as a reminder to ground and balance myself while I’m away. I’ll be leaving behind my three cats and Kender and I’ll miss them all dearly. While I’ll be having tons of fun with my friends and learning lots, sometimes it can be a hard thing to keep the spirits up when you don’t have your ground or touchstone. So, I’ll use this card to remind me to take time for myself. I’ll ground and meditate, reconnect with nature, and chat with my hubby as much as I can while I’m gone.
Only a few more days left!
I’m home from camping and a good time was had by all. Lots of discussions, laughter, and fellowship. Today’s draw is Judgement and I find this card oddly fitting. It signifies the last few days of this countdown to BATS and it also gives me the space to rest and recoup between these two energy intensive activities.
Judgement heralds the end of something and the beginning of a new period in one’s life. For me, this speaks of a higher calling and doesn’t necessarily mean the rising up of death. It’s a transcendence. I see this as a good omen as we head into the final 4 days of BATS prep.
The best part of any camping trip is coming home, showering, and napping. Today’s draw reflects how I feel about getting all those other items put away. I drew the 4 of Cups and it’s attitude of “I am tired, I don’t want to do what you tell me to do” suits the lazy Sunday vibe of getting home. While there’s lots to do before I board that plane, I’d rather sit, read, sleep and snuggle my cats. I know I’ll find the balance today and throughout the rest of the week and I know I’ll enjoy my visit to California once again.
